Jamie Gold Online Poker – Not doing too good…

Here’s a ten minute video in which Jamie Gold quickly loses a couple $10,000 buy-ins. Some of the plays he makes are just plain questionable:

First big pot he gets in with AT, he re-raises the UTG attacker all-in on the turn when the K hits the J63 board. The King could be a scare card, but a KJ63 board isn’t really too safe when you’re playing a raised pot. His all-in is a pure bluff obviously (even though he did have a gutshot), and his opponent quickly called with J4. JACK 4. That’s how much he’s onto Jamie in this hand.
Jamie reloads to $10,000, and gets involved in this hand: Jamie calls a raise on the BB when the flop hits Q84. The flop is bet UTG and Jamie calls. K hits the turn, UTG checks, Jamie bets pot (1.1k) and gets raised BIG (+3k). Jamie calls sending the pot over $7.5k. UTG shoves the river, Jamie goes into the tank and calls off his last $6300 with AK, losing to a full boat. Lesson for Jamie: Floating is dangerous.
Two hands later (reloaded for another ten Grand) BIG bluffs the river with Qx (a hand he should have just mucked,…), going broke against two pair (making an excellent call).
Jamie rebuys again, (now with a full table, all here to take some Jamie-money, I’m sure), shoves the next hand with middle pair on a 4-card straight board – going broke again…

I mean, Jamie…. I’m a huge fan, but he was obviously steaming SICK and not playing even close to his best game. My feel: Jamie should really slow down and play the tournaments… The online poker cash games are probably a bit too tough for him…

Jamie Gold & Rakeback?

Haven’t heard too much on Jamie Gold as of lately. He is probably busy running his entertainment business or bluffing away in online poker.

Either way just wanted to mention I have been playing online recently and one of the players told me about rakeback. I have never used it before but looked into it and found out there are actually lots of offers and bonuses out there for all sorts of different poker rooms.

Rakebrain.com for example even runs free rolls for their special members and so on. I found them to come in pretty useful in my research. If you guys know more about this rakeback matter feel free to comment on this. Wonder if Jamie has a rakeback program haha…

Jamie Gold on CNBC after winning WSOP 2006

After winning the World Series of Poker main event back in 2006, Jamie is asked to appear on CNBC to talk about an imminent ban on online poker. He’s also asked about his past, a life in Hollywood.

Not the most exciting video footage ever taken, and Jamie does slip up at one point, saying: “I was always honest, and I’m honest at the poker table too —- [silence] —- I just try to trick people now”.

Eeeeuh… right, Jamie….
