Jamie Gold talking about being a cashgame donk
I mean, Jamie Gold being honest. In this game — he was a donk compared to the competition. Jamie needs cashgame practice — and he knows it. He had fun, lost a couple hundred thousand… But he had fun!

I like how Jamie played this hand for most of the time. The pre-flop re-raise is a good play — so is the speech. Patrick’s AJ call is logical, but he sure is behind…
He should have bet more than 15k on the flop, as Gabe said — I suggest a $30k bet.
The turn brings disaster for Jamie when he makes his set (and Patrick makes his gutshot) — the raise on the turn by Jamie isn’t unlogical — and the all-in isn’t a bad play…
Luckily for Patrick they ran it 3 times — lucky Jamie!
Other players at the table include Doyle Brunson, Antonio Esfandiari, Sammy Farha, David Benyamine and Guy Laliberte.
Shana gets dealt two great starting hands on the short stack in this Pro-Am Equalizer tournament, and she gets beating out of the TT’s by Jamie’s Aces.
She had no way of escaping. Maybe she should have moved in pre-flop with the jacks, could have saved her an all-in with the tens — but who knows… Jamie’s Jamie, and you’re not folding tens with Q3Q rainbow board I suppose…
After winning the World Series of Poker main event back in 2006, Jamie is asked to appear on CNBC to talk about an imminent ban on online poker. He’s also asked about his past, a life in Hollywood.
Not the most exciting video footage ever taken, and Jamie does slip up at one point, saying: “I was always honest, and I’m honest at the poker table too —- [silence] —- I just try to trick people now”.
Eeeeuh… right, Jamie….
Also in this video: Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth and Chris “Jesus” Ferguson.
Jamie Gold showing how good he can bluff. He checks the turn, feels Danny’s fear when he checks it back to Jamie — and fakes a valuebet on the river // making Daniel Alaei lay down his kings.
Funny detail: I’m sure Daniel Negreanu WOULD have called the ten thousand. I mean — it’s not like Jamie never bluffs aye!
Funny footage, good pot by Jamie!
I love it when Jamie feel comfortable enough at the table to play the way he likes to play. He talks about showing his bluffs, talks about sidebets with the poker brat Phil Hellmuth (and taking over 10k off Phill that day), and about being happy having position on Twan Le, helping him bluffing him.
I enjoyed this pokernews.com video — more to come soon!
Quote of the vid: “I’m bluffing everyone a lot and it seems to be working” excellent! ![]()
Starting off this fanblog, off course we have to show the table that made Jamie the poker-millionaire he is today: the final table of the world series of poker back in 2006. What an excellent sale on that final hand, and you can’t blame Paul Wasicka for calling, Jamie probably would have if he was in the same position.
Excellent heads-up battle, enjoyed every single minute of the tournament too. Congratulations Jamie!
