I’m no stranger to foot pain. When I was a 233 pound couch potato, it was especially acute. I couldn’t walk a trade show without changing my shoes several times during the day and popping ibuprofen every few hours. It has definitely gotten better since I shed the extra weight, but after a long day on the trails training for my Kilimanjaro trek, that ache often returns. Given that 1) I’m concerned about foot pain making my #Kili2021 goal difficult or impossible and 2) I write about wellness design, I decided that I had to ask an expert about healthy home solutions. Since I know that millions of other adults have the same challenges — whether through their job or their fitness hobbies — I was certainly going to share what I learned. Here’s that wisdom, compliments of a Mayo Clinic foot specialist, via Forbes.com. I hope it helps you too.
Hydrotherapy — whether through jetted tub, spa or even handheld massaging showerhead — relieves foot pain

I just created a new Wellness Wednesdays club on the Clubhouse app and scheduled a quick Welcome conversation for this evening — 4:30p PT / 7:30p ET. I hope you can join and participate. There’s no charge for either. This first convo is going to be a casual, come-as-you-are, voice-only chat about healthy homes we love, live in and love! If you’re wondering what Clubhouse is, my twin descriptions are 1) interactive micro-podcasting and 2) talk radio without the toxicity. You access Clubhouse from your smart phone, iOS or Android. No camera needed, so you can chat in your cheetah jammies if you want.

Are you planning an outdoor living space for your home this season? If so, the Outdoor Living chapter in WELLNESS BY DESIGN will be worth checking out. You can find the book at your local library and many booksellers. Indie Bound and Bookshop.org let you support locally-owned bookstores (yay!). Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, Books-a-Million and Target.com let you find it easily online.
