Get Yourself Father’s Day Gifts You Really Want! (It’s Not Too Late.)

Golf balls, neck ties and brunch, oh my! It’s great being ‘Dear Old Dad,’ but Father’s Day never seems to bring you gifts that won’t end up in the donation bin. It’s not too late to get yourself something you’ll enjoy – or at least find useful – for years to come. Here’s the gift ideas list I shared on Forbes.com last Friday. Use it as inspiration for the fun, fabulous or functional purchase that gets you a truly ‘you’ gift. Any one of these goodies can be found as close as your nearest big box store, or online if you’re feeling unmotivated to leave the house.

Here’s an excerpt on resilience that published recently in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

June 19th is a fairly new national holiday celebrating a historical occasion. It was on that date in 1865 when the final slaves of the defeated Confederacy would finally be free. In the century and a half since that emancipation, African Americans in the United States have achieved tremendous accomplishments and success, (not without significant struggle and tragedy along the way). I wrote about some of the issues they still endure in becoming homeowners, an idea to redress that challenge, and the relevance of wellness design to the African American community.
