Last week I shared eight bathroom design trends for 2021. Today we’re looking at nine kitchen design trends for the year. My sources were surveys and reports from Houzz, Ferguson, NKBA and Zillow and the article was published on my Forbes.com page. Many of the trends showing up in our kitchens are being driven by the pandemic. That’s unsurprising. What is surprising — at least to me — is the volume of projects being undertaken. Most of the designers and contractors I speak with are busier than ever and I’m happy for them. I’m also happy to wait until the pandemic passes by before taking on any home improvement projects ‘Chez J,’ my San Diego area townhouse.
I don’t want people coming into my home with a virus rampaging across the state. I had workers repair my water-damaged floors a few months ago, but kept the windows opened, the fans on and insisted that the workers be masked the entire time. I also stayed far away from them while they were working. I just turned 60 and would like to stay safe and healthy — especially as I still plan to summit Kilimanjaro. (I had to postpone this goal from last December, but plan on tackling it December 2021; look for the #Kili2021 hashtag on my social platforms.)
That being said, there are some great ideas here to consider for your kitchen, and lots of gorgeous eye candy! Check out the nine trends here.
Simplicity is one of the top trends for 2021. Simply gorgeous describes this kitchen!
