GOLD NOTES

NUGGETS FROM THE WORLD OF RESIDENTIAL DESIGN
Older Adults Embracing Technology

Some of my last memories of my dad, who passed away about a month before his 89th birthday, were watching him enjoy music on his Amazon smart speaker and surfing the web on his iPad. He never got around to installing a smart thermostat, maybe so he could keep yelling at everyone about putting on sweaters instead of turning up the heat! (That’s my next Chez Z home project, since my builder grade unit drives me crazy!)

He was much on my mind as I wrote my latest article on older adults embracing technology and the benefits it can bring to our lives and homes. You can read that here.

NIFTY NUGGET

I get tons of product sample offers and turn most of them down. But when one came in for a set of organic cotton bedding from a top brand at the exact time I was updating my guest room, I was a definite yes! And I’ve been delighted with them ever since. These new toxin-free sheets from Boll & Branch feel great and wash well. What more can anyone ask?

In fact, I liked them so much that I bought four pillows from the company as well — two medium, one firm and one soft. There are all kinds of guests and they deserve to be comfortable and healthy while they’re visiting. In fact, my first guest post-upgrade complimented the new bed and bedding.

It’s worth noting that B&B also has top-notch customer service and free shipping. I recommend this company without hesitation, and will definitely buy from them again.
