What I’m Working On and Thinking About

I don’t have a new article link to share with you today as my Gold Notes featured post. I think that’s OK. This is what I’m thinking about and working on this season. You’ll see links soon enough in this space!

  • I’m researching the metaverse’s potential for older adults like myself. What can it do to make our lives safer, healthier, happier? I’ve reached out to experts in the health, aging, design and technology worlds for their input. Look for conclusions early in the new year. And let me know if you have any thoughts about this emerging area.
  • I’m working on an essay for one of my long-time favorite design publications, Apartment Therapy, on the comfort and joy of living with handicrafts my Dad made. Chez J, my San Diego area townhouse, is filled with the beautiful pieces he lovingly created. January will mark five years he’s been gone. Having those creations throughout my home keeps him closer.
  • I’m also working on an article for Multi-Housing News about the potential for a new California housing law to make a dent in the acute shortage of homes and apartments for everyday folks who want — or need — to live here. Are you one of them? That piece will publish in December and I’ll share a link here when it does.

Always looking to brighten readers’ worlds!
